Nelson Leon Okes, 74, of Graysville, passed away June 25, 2018 at his residence after a long battle with Parkinsons. He was born in Sullivan County September 8, 1943 to Loren and Eunice (Hiatt) Okes. He was a 1961 graduate of Sullivan High School and a retired carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson Langdon Bynum.
Survivors include his wife of 54, years Deborah (Criss) Okes, daughters Leona (Bob) Davis, Laura (Doug) Baker, son, Bradley (Angie) Okes, two sisters Georgene Copper, Gloriajean Okes, two brothers Donald and Ronald Okes, grandchildren, Christopher Bynum, Briauna (Brandon) Himes, Kaley (Morgan) Kindall, Nathaniel Bynum, Tiera (John) Vaughn, Alexis Beahan, Harley Davis, Ashton Okes, Hudson Okes, Haiden Okes, great grandchildren, Anthony Bynum, Blaine Kindall, Karsyn Kindall, Blakeleigh Bynum, Killian Bynum and other relatives.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life at the Grave Side Service, 11:00 a.m. on Friday June 29, 2018 at the Union Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Kathy Meredith officiating. Holmes Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
